Frequently Asked Questions:
~ Your art does not have to be from Crossroads Art Center. We gladly welcome anyone’s art from anywhere!
~ Run out of gas half way through that do-it-yourself job? Want to swap out glass for plexi? Have all the parts and just need it assembled? No problem! We will be happy to help you with your partial framing project.
~ We do not deal in metal or plastic frames. However, if you have purchased such a frame elsewhere and wish to bring it to us, we are happy to provide whatever additional materials you need and assemble everything for you.
~ Have a unique something you want on the wall? Bring it in! We have framed everything from carved wooden African sculptures to ceramic tiles and stained glass windows and we will try our best to find a creative solution to your framing needs.
Attention Affordable Framing customers,
First and foremost, we would like to thank everyone that has ever, and continues, to support us. We greatly appreciate everything you do for us, your patronage, your loyalty, and your patience. We try to give back as much as humanly possible, but unfortunately there are only two of us and lately we have overextended ourselves a little and have been forced to lay down some new rules for the health of the business.
Beginning April 1, 2008, we would like you to be aware of the following new policies:
~ Any framing that needs to be completed in one week or less will be subject to a rush fee at our discretion. The default rule will be an additional $15.00 for any framing work valued at $100.00 or less, and 15% additional for work valued over $100.00. Fees are calculated on a per piece basis, meaning that if you order two frames valued at $40.00 each, there will be a total rush fee of an additional $30.00. We reserve the right to increase this charge for any particularly labor intensive projects. Any late fees will be calculated into your initial estimate so you will be aware of the total cost up front. Also, we may request 2 weeks to finish your work regardless of complexity (even if you only want one mat cut). We try our best to help out all of our customers and understand that sometimes things come up, but at any given time we are attempting to juggle nearly 150 pieces of art and we need to work on a relative first-come first-serve basis to be fair to everyone's needs. If you have a difficult situation, please feel free to come and speak with us about it and we will help however we can, but please try to plan ahead for upcoming art shows and special events as we are often extremely busy during these times and cannot always promise certain results.
~ Artwork must be left with us in order to be framed. We will no longer be able to work off of measurements because the painting is unfinished or still wet. This often results in errors and quickly becomes a waste of time, materials, and money. Again, please plan ahead for art shows.
~ When picking up artwork, please either wait for a phone call from us to confirm that your pieces are ready or give us a call before you leave to come pick up your art. We are always very busy and work against the clock and it helps us tremendously if we know that you are on your way so that we can finish last minute details and have your pieces cleaned and wrapped and ready to go. We ask this in hopes that customers are not inconvenienced with extra trips due to miscommunication or minor unforeseen delays.
~ If you are a "consistent" customer, meaning that you bring in several pieces a month and almost always have work in progress, we would greatly appreciate it you could pay your current balance before the end of each month. This helps us avoid having large outstanding balances due when we need to pay our vendors. If you are unsure of your "status" in regards to this request, just speak with us at the desk and we will discuss the best course of action.
~ Affordable Framing's official hours are as follows: Monday-Friday 10:00am - 4:00pm. Saturday 11:00am - 4:00pm. We are often here beyond those hours and are happy to assist you if you come by, however these are the times you can expect at least one of us to be at the desk unless we have listed a prior closure notice.
We greatly appreciate your cooperation and understanding on these issues and hope that they don't cause any inconvenience. We simply want to ensure that we can continue to provide cost-effective quality framing in a reasonable time frame. If you have any questions or concerns about anything listed above, please feel free to give us a call and we will be happy to discuss things with you. You can reach us through crossroads at 278-8950 (ask to speak to framing) or on Inge's cell phone 869-3403.
We look forward to working with you. Thanks again
Inge and Miranda
