Hal Tench was born in Clearwater, Florida, in 1954. Graduating from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, he took a position in advertising with The Martin Agency in Richmond, Virginia. Always an avid painter, he developed a side career as an artist and has work in The Federal Reserve Collection and numerous private collections, and he received awards in national competitions. A one-man show at The Peninsula Fine Arts Museum in Hampton, Virginia, was one of his most notable exhibitions. He resides and paints in his studio in Hartfield, Virginia.
