Kathleen Armstrong has always been intrigued by the magical quality of spinning wheels since she first learned of them through fairy tales. Two decades ago, she bought an Ashford Traditional wheel from for a dear friend, and she was hooked. When she moved back to Virginia, she began to devote time and passion to the yarn creation process. “There is something about the touch, the feel, and the smell of the fiber that grabs me and makes me want to play to see what I can make.”
Kathleen continues to learn about spinning and plying techniques on three wheels that she owns, as well as experimenting with different color and natural dyeing processes. Her friends say that she is obsessed. She thinks they’re right.
