Children's Private Art Classes with Hilary Farnam
Evenings after 6:30 p.m. on weeknights | Weekends
Hilary teaches personalized, individual art classes to children from 1st grade through middle school. She begins with observational drawing and painting, starting with simple shapes and forms and moving to detailed objects. She also teaches how to work with various materials, such as paper mache, yarn, and cardboard to create three-dimensional art. Her focus is on teaching children to use their imagination and to think critically, allowing them to see the world in a different way. Each class is tailored to the child’s skill level and interests.
Hilary graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2015 with a degree in art education and is licensed to teach all grade levels. She has given private art lessons to children for more than three years. She works at St. Benedicts’ Catholic School as the after-school arts leader and at Crossroads Art Center. Fee: $30 per hour, recommended: two-hour weekly classes or twice monthly.
