Nancy Tucker has spent most of her life in a small town or rural setting in central Virginia. Her appreciation of these images and those from domestic and foreign travel are apparent in her work. Her focus is to reflect an emotional response and a sense of space. Working both in the studio and en plein air, Nancy uses a variety of media, including pastel, oils, and watercolor. She chooses medium based on her desired outcome, with pastel being her favorite. Shes explores themes and ideas through series of work.
Nancy is a member of the James River Art League, Metropolitan Richmond Artists Association, and the Central Virginia Pastel Society. She exhibits locally with all of these groups and teaches in her home studio in Louisa County.
