Somewhere In Venice was inspired by a May 2023 trip to Italy, including a few days in Venice. Many guidebooks encourage you to get off the beaten path when visiting Venice, and go beyond the Grand Canal and San Marco. Following these instructions, we found charming smaller canals, winding alleys, tiny bridges, and very few fellow tourists. And I found the ingredients for a painting summing up the experience.
