Artist's Statement:
I have over fifty years experience as a professional artist studying masters' techniques and application, especially mideastern art; educated in the School of Visual Arts and Art Students League in New York City. I have shown and sold paintings nationally as well as internationally. I was a member of the Shenandoah Art Association in Waynesboro, VA as well as CoArt Gallery and the Beverley Street School in Staunton, VA.
My purpose in painting is to evoke a feel of nostalgia - of simpler times and pleasures from the harmonizing chords of color. I try to turn my subject matter into a fantasyland while balancing the horizontal and vertical plans of the canvas with a personal method of 'characterizing.' I realize that art takes a lifetime to accomplish which I portrayed through my cumulative studies, experiences and knowledge. I bring past experiences and memories to the surface by using line, color, logic, space and design to create a whole painting characterized by vivid colors and free treatment of form resulting vibrant and decorative effect.
My goal is to break away from the mundane and use my God-given talent to excite and entice art lovers from every walk of life.
