My Happy Meal
Bead Embroidery
6 x 6"
$175
A double quarter pounder with fries and a soda. This bead embroidered piece is hand sewn on a fabric foundation. The design was drawn free hand first and then “painted” in using glass seed beads. The artist will be donating proceeds to Richmond’s Ronald McDonald House.
Artist Statement:
There is nothing more pleasing than to create a thing of beauty and know someone else will enjoy having it as much as I have enjoyed making it.
With more than 20 years of experience in beading and jewelry design, my style unites a variety of beading techniques including embroidery, crochet, and peyote stitch. I love to seek out the perfect elements for my designs such as Swarovski crystals, natural stones, lampwork beads, pearls, Czech glass beads, Raku cabochons and seed beads. I also incorporate silver, gold, copper and pewter components. My beaded designs were on display for sale in the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts shop in Richmond for more than ten years.
My designs are now for sale at Crossroads Art Center and on Etsy at TreatYourselfDesigns which I share with my good friend and fellow artist, Suzanne Peters.
