Aurora Over Priest Butte, Montana
14" x 18"
Acrylic on Canvas
$2200
Montana is known for it’s many unusually shaped buttes and colorful aurore. The butte at Choteau, MT is perhaps one of the best known. It’s elongated, angled form has been the subject of many paintings. By definition, a butte is an isolated hill with steep sides and a flat top similar to a mesa.
I visited this butte several years ago; my version was influenced by the Art Deco style seen throughout this region.
