Beverley Jane
The Art of Beverley Jane
Beverley Jane paints images that are welcoming. They are colorful, but also peaceful images of architecture. Focusing on doorways and porches surrounded with gardens and pots full of flower blooms, she captures the play of sunlight and shadows. Beverley Jane especially enjoys the color change of the seasons, Spring’s new blossoms or Autumn’s changing foliage.
Beverley grew up in western New York where she took lessons from a local artist. She studied at Columbus College of Art and Design and earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Illustration from the Ohio State University. She moved to Richmond, VA over 25 years ago where she fell in love with the Fan District neighborhood.
After working exclusively in watercolors for over fifteen years, Beverley Jane has returned to oil painting. She uses a double primary color palette, based on a warm and cool version of the three primary colors, red, blue and yellow.
Her paintings have won several awards including Best of Show. Although her paintings are of Richmond, VA, Beverley Jane hopes her images remind you of “a favorite place where the sun is warm, the shadows are comforting, and the porch is always welcoming.” She often does commission paintings of her patron’s favorite places.
