This scratchboard art piece was created using a single blade, Xacto knife. Ampersand Claybord is the substrate. Once the lion has been scratched out, many layers of varnish is used to seal the artwork.
Artist's Statement:
Jan's art consists of wildlife, landscapes, abstract with incorporated realism and more. The inspiration comes from her travel adventures across the world. From Africa to Colorado and the wild horses on the East Coast. Her mediums are oils, acrylics, pastels and scratchboard. Jan's goal is to capture an animal's personality, or create art that depicts wildlife in their environment or simply the beauty of nature.
