“A Touch of Glass”
Welcome to my world of kiln-fired glass, also known as fused glass. I assemble
bits and pieces of glass and fuse them with high heat in a kiln. As I look around
at gardens, the ocean, or the mountains, I imagine how I can create my version
of that with glass. I am most inspired to create sculptural forms, landscapes, sea
scapes, garden art, and scenes of the everyday. Even a failure is a teaching
experience, despite the disappointment.
I began this journey in the early 2000’s when I took some classes at what is now
the Visual Arts Center in Richmond, Virginia. I was hooked.
Circumstances disrupted my creative practice for a time,
but I have recently rediscovered my joy in making art
and I am excited to be back.
