Oil on Canvas

One of my favorite things to do in the fall is take a drive along Skyline Drive to enjoy the beautiful autumn foliage. This painting was inspired by one of those trips through the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Artist's Statement:
Whether working on a figurative oil painting or painting a Plein Air landscape, I strive to create paintings that capture the likeness as well as the spirit of an individual or place. I am an advocate of painting from life, and do so on a regular basis, painting from the live model in the studio or painting outdoors en plein air. I received my BFA from Westfield University and attended Massachusetts College of Art. Upon graduating, I worked at the Museum of Fine Art in Boston, Massachusetts where I was deeply influenced by the work of America's first impressionists. After moving to Richmond Virginia, I continued my artistic journey by working in the field of graphic design which contributed to my vision as a painter. My work can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the United States.
