After spending a lot of time in the Outer Banks, one of my favorite spots is by the sound. I aim to capture the captivating hues of the sunset in my painting, hoping to convey the sense of calm and peace I feel when I am there.

Artist's Statement:

Cathy earned a BFA degree from Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Art located in Richmond, VA. She initially worked as a graphic artist in advertising and publishing and eventually specialized in consumer packaging and printing. Recently, she left her graphics career to pursue her passion for painting and illustration. Cathy is comfortable in various mediums, such as watercolor, acrylics, and oils. She brings her printing and illustration expertise to the table to lay the foundation for blending color and form to give rise to new possibilities in her work. Her focus is exploring the relationship between light and color and how they interact with objects to create something fascinating.

Cathy currently lives in Chesterfield, VA with her husband and studio partner, “Remi” their beagle.
