Blue Crab with Periwinkle is a watercolor painting with a viewpoint near the level of the water.   A  Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab, at the surface, looks up while grasping a periwinkle.  

Other periwinkles are attached to the chartreuse green marsh grass.  

This painting is light in feel, and very original in style.   Ryon uses chartreuse green with a punch of turquoise in painting this stunning watercolor.   It would be wonderful framed in a turquoise blue frame, or with an under mat of turquoise.   This 14" x 20" watercolor is perfect for a beach house or river cottage.   Framed with a mat, the size could be increased to 20"W x 26"H.
