Dating back to 1756 and located just south of Ocracoke Inlet, the now abandoned Portsmouth Island sits quietly alone. Henry Pigott died in 1971 just prior to the last two residents leaving the island in 1972. There are many stories of this historic island ... this is one of mine.

Artist's Statement:

With a focus on photography and mixed-media printmaking, I have directed my most recent works toward combining the two disciplines. In addition to traditional fine art photography, I began exploring and further developing a print-making technique I refer to as Progressive Frame Imaging (PFI). In its simplest definition, PFI is a multi-layer, ink-over-ink print making process not dissimilar to that of lithography, wood block or silk-screen printing. With Progressive Frame Imaging, digital printers replace the ink transfer mediums of stone, wood or screen.
