This scene overlooks the James River from Hollywood Cemetery, where my son, Joe, is buried. Each season reflects meaningful moments from his 19th and final year of life. Proceeds will support the Joseph Beauregard Memorial Lecture Series at Mercersburg Academy, where he left a lasting impact.

Artist's Statement:

I began learning stained glass as part of my healing journey after the tragic loss of my 19-year-old son, Joe, who drowned just six weeks into his freshman year at SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design). One of his first assignments was to depict his journey to SCAD, and he chose to paint a Stations of the Cross stained glass window, with each section representing an important aspect of his life.

To honor his memory, I decided to take a stained glass class to create the piece he envisioned. This project gave me something to focus on during a difficult time, and working with my hands on something he designed helped me feel close to him throughout the nine months I spent on it.

Since then, I have continued to take classes, finding them very healing as many of my pieces carry special meaning related to him and our family. Creating art in my free time provides a wonderful balance in my life alongside my four-decade career in the HealthCare Industry. I enjoy drawing my own designs, which I find both gratifying and challenging. My work is often rich in color and inspired by the natural world.
