ANDERSON, Catherine G. "Skippy", passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009. Skippy was born November 10, 1929, in Hanover County. She graduated from Highland Springs High School in 1947 and attended Richmond Professional Institute (VCU) as an art student. Skippy and her husband started their married life in Highland Springs and moved with his job to Suffolk, Fredericksburg, Norfolk and made their last home in Quinton, Virginia. Skippy was an award-winning artist who exhibited her watercolors throughout the state of Virginia and was a past president of the Virginia Watercolor Society. She was an active member of Highland Springs Methodist Church where she was baptized at 8 years old and married on March 11, 1950. Skippy was proud of her drawings and paintings that are displayed in the church.
