Improvisation is the heart of jazz performance. The artists create musical lines that are each centered around a common theme. Each member of the ensemble reacts and adapts to the solos and riffs of the other players. There is both individuality and unity in this amazing musical genre.

Artist Statement:

I have worked with wood as a hobby for most of my adult life. Now in retirement I am able to truly focus on stretching my skills and creativity full time.

Each piece of wood was alive at one time – breathing in its own ways. And for me there is still life in it. My goal is for each piece that I use to inspire me to create shapes and forms – wood turnings, sculptures, and pieces of furniture - that allow the material's natural beauty to be seen, touched and appreciated by all who look at it.
