There was a time in music history when the idiom now known as jazz was misunderstood and unacceptable, much like most new art forms. Today jazz has taken many shapes but in my mind I still listen for the downbeat in the opening act.
Artist Statement:
As an artist my work leans towards figurative art, and in some cases, it can be categorized as abstract realism or impressionism. I attribute this to my spontaneous depiction of the subject matter that to the passing eyes may only record a blur. My objective is to capture these fleeting moments for others to witness and enjoy.
I believe art should not only be decorative but also tell a story…to educate and stimulate the viewer. The spectator should never stop learning with unexpected wonder and enjoyment.
